About Us

Although the idea of local people coming together and standing up for the betterment of Heaton Norris started in June 2014, Love Heaton Norris officially started a few months later in September. Run by a group of local people from all walks of life (incl. residents, community workers, charities, faith leaders, employees, businesses and school governors) to champion all things Heaton Norris.

We currently hold a public meeting completely open to all, on every second Monday evening of the month at various venues throughout Heaton Norris. We want to make Love Heaton Norris a platform for the whole community to work together for the well-being of the region by either supporting the community work of others & or starting one of their own.

Help make Heaton Norris a better place to work, live & play.

Can you help us? Want your voice heard or just want to know more? Your views & ideas are most welcome. Either contact us for more information or better still, pop down to one of our public meetings on the second Monday evening of every month. Either way we would love to hear from you.

Our aim:

To make Heaton Norris a better place to live, work and play.

Our objectives:

  • Encourage and support the work of local “champions”. (People who are trying to make a difference in the area i.e. residents, businesses, faith groups/churches, schools, community/charity groups, community police etc.)
  • Encourage investment (public & private) in the region.
  • Encourage a sense of community / civic pride in Heaton Norris
  • Raise awareness of its key role in the history and heritage of Stockport and wider region. (i.e. it was the original Heaton, birthplace of Stockport County F.C. etc)
  • Uniting the Heaton Norris community and improving community cohesion.
  • Encourage people to either support the community work of others & or start their own.
